Software development engineer (C++)

Job description

• Learning and Understanding HP and 3rd party software solutions, including architectures, development practices, frameworks, methodologies, SDK’s, additional programming languages and tools as necessary, etc;
• Interacting with software divisions, consulting groups, end users etc in Russia and world-wide;
• Development of functional, low-level design;
• Development of functional modules using HP SNMP toolkits;
• Coding using C/C++, shell scripting languages;  
• Unit testing;
• Follow HP GDAS development methodology;
• Interaction with HP GDAS teams/personnel including development  teams, support, implementers, etc.

• University technical education;
• Experience of development using C/C++;
• UNIX Knowledge (HP-UX, Solaris or Linux);
• Understanding of industry standard solutions and tools (testing, project management tools);
• Upper-intermediate English (technical documentation reading/writing – advanced/upper-intermediate, oral communications – intermediate)
• Understanding of SNMP protocol;
• Ability to perform analysis of an interface (i.e. protocol/message content/equipment model) and then put it down in a Specification Document.
• Ability to identify if it is possible or not to implement a specific feature regarding the information coming from the Network Element (command available/information contained into message…)
• Ability to choose a coarse grain or fine grain analyses of the Network Element in order to reach the target.
• Aggressive ability to extract information from internal and external sources to use in successful fulfilment of responsibilities;
• Self driven and motivated, but balanced with teamwork and open communication skills results oriented;
• Flexibility, initiative, organized, analytical;
• Ability to travel;
• Knowledge in development cycle & standards, testing environment is a plus;
• General knowledge of Telecom equipment is a plus
• Understanding of the alarm concept, clearance, alarm correlation, alarm aggregation is a plus
• Experience of development using Perl and texts parsing is a plus.
